Vegan Fitness Supplements

Where do you get your protein? What supplements do you need on a vegan diet?

Food is life. What we eat has more of an impact on our health than what we do. Staying active while we travel is great but the food we eat is essential in reaching our fitness goals. Before we work out, we eat a high carb snack like a fruit or toast for an energy boost. After the gym, we refuel with a protein shake.

Mixing up the ingredients keeps it interesting and the shake becomes a post-workout treat. The problem with protein powder is there's a tradeoff between the amount of protein and the taste. We love using Garden of Life because it's so smooth. It has 30g of protein, 5.5g of BCAAs, glutamine, and probiotics without a chalky, powdery taste. It's free of grains, soy, dairy, and gluten. We love adding  a handful of spinach, banana, and frozen strawberries.

We believe in getting nutrients from food instead of vitamins because it's easier for the body to absorb but there's a few essentials we recommend for wellness. Vegan diets are lower in B-12, D3, and Omega 3 because they're usually found in animal products. We use them as a pre supplement for energy and health. It's also a nice mental boost before we hit the gym.
